Short History
Manyana was historically set up by the Bahurutshe (who are still the dominant ethnic group in the village). Historians describe the village as a historical settlement area that retains well defined remnants of early settlement (Campbell, 2003 and Department of National Museum, Monuments and Art Gallery) such as rock paintings, a tree under which the missionary David Livingstone conducted his sermons and an old battlefield of Dimawe.
